Beauty & Strength in a single blade
This is the perfect little black dress of knives. It is a great all around knife, the one you pick up so you don't have to wash three knives. It has a very sharp, thin blade that is long enough but not too long for things like peeling or paring fruit. The "D" shap handle is great and it fits both my husband's hands and my hands - making it amazingly versitile. The knife is also beautiful making it a great gift. The moire pattern on the blade is stunning as is the beautiful handle.

A cutting tool to respect
This is my second Shun knife so I expected it to be a good balance between sharp, strong, balanced, and comfortable. I was not disappointed. In fact, it slices through meat, tomatoes, and fruit so well that I'm amazed at how easy those jobs are. Just be very careful with these knives because they are SHARP!

This is a great, great knife
I bought this knife because of a dilemma that I had: I wanted to have my Shun Chef's Knife sharpened, which meant I had to send it off to Oregon, but I couldn't stand to give it up. Even after a year and a half of frequent use it was still my best knife by far. Finally I decided that the only solution was to get another Shun knife, and I decided on the 6" utility knife.
Now my only dilemma would be in deciding which one of these knives is my favorite now.
Where have these knives been all my life? Why did I balk at paying $125.00 for a decent knife? I paid much more than that for a Cuisinart food processor that I use only once or twice a month.

Shun utility Knife.One of the best knives you will
The utilty knife by Shun is one of the best knives I have ever used.The knife cuts through evrything I have used it on ,like it is cutting through butter.The knife fits in you hand easily and doesn't move around.It stays good and sharp and is dishwasher safe.it does not loose it's coloring .It is truely one of the best knives of it's kind.

Like all Shun, almost flawless
This knife is, as I said almost flawless. All shun knives have extremely good, easy to get razor sharp steel that cleans like a dream for the damascus-style printing it has on it. This comes at a price well below other knives of this caliber. Like all Shun knives, this little beaut features a pakkawood handle that will quickly pick up common off-odors in the kitchen, such as onion or vinegar, so watch to make sure it doesn't get put away dirty. I use mine for any tast too big for a parer, too small for a chef's. imagine that
