This was also a gift to my mother for Christmas. Our family loves making homemade ice cream when we get together. We had a regular one but it did a terrible job staying hooked together. This one is fast and easy to use.

Excellent Product!!
I was given this attachment for Christmas and I love it. It is so easy to make a batch of ice cream in this bowl. I keep it in the freezer ready to go! I have used it twice so far to make a vanilla custard ice cream. My family loves it. We used the ice cream for hot fudge sundaes, they were a huge hit! They are asking to try new flavors next time so we will experiment! I am thinking peanut butter cup!
One of the best presents I have received in a long time!

Christmas Excitement
My grandson, who turned 6 a week before Christmas, decided he would give up a present from us and put that money toward the gift his mama really wanted... an Ice Cream Maker attachment for her Kitchen Aid mixer. I wasn't sure he understood what he was agreeing to, but he began to tell all his friends about how he was getting this special present for Mama instead of another toy. And on Christmas Eve, Mama was so excited and now is gathering all kinds of recipes for soy ice cream and gelato. Great way to fix treats for families with dairy sensitivities!

Much Used (& Loved) Attachment
I LOVE this attachment!! I keep the bowl in the freezer all the time - it's always ready. I keep the attachment in my stainless steel mixing bowl right with my stand mixer -- no extra space taken up. I buy plenty of shelf-stable whipping cream to have on hand for a quick batch of ice cream. There are a myriad of easy 5 or 6 ingredient ice creams available on the web. I use an easy Strawberry Ice Cream recipe I found and have substituted bananas, peaches, and mangoes for the strawberries for 3 very delicious ice creams. The attachment is so easy to clean and it really does only take 20 minutes (if the bowl is pre-frozen). Transfer finished product to a freezer container and pop in the freezer for a couple of hours (if desired) for the best tasting, wholesome ingredient filled, yummy ice cream you've ever had!

Makes great ice cream!
I purchased this to make homemade ice cream, am very impressed with how easy it is to use! I use the sweet cream recipe from Ben & Jerry and it makes perfect batches everytime. I have not tried the recipe that comes with the book due to the amount of eggs used. Glad I bought it, can be served right away as soft serve or freeze for a couple of hours for hard ice cream.

Great Ice Cream Maker
I've wanted this KitchenAid Ice Cream Maker attachment for years. I finally decided to get it, and I'm very happy with it. It's easy to use and make ice cream a lot easier than my big machine i used to use (where I had to use rock salt and wrap it in a blanket even). I like attaching things to my mixer and so far have been very happy with the way they all work. The ice cream attachment is now one of my very favorite attachemtns.

Super Attachment
I have been using the Ice Cream Maker attachment to make delicious Fruit Gelatos, and I am experimenting with other Ice Cream varieties. I use Marcella Hazan's Gelato recipe, there's nothing simpler: 1 Cup "Ice Cold" Water, 1 Cup Sugar (made superfine in my blender) + Fruit (e.g., a Pint of Blueberries, Strain Out the Skins if You Like), Blended + 1/2 Cup of Heavy Cream (Whipped and Folded Into the Sugar and Fruit Mixture). Freeze for 20 Minutes in the Ice Cream Maker. Serve as is, or Freeze for 2 to 4 Hours. Delicious. Keeps in the Freezer for a Few Days (unless eaten first).

Excellent Item
I previously owned a small hand crank ice cream maker but it is getting harder for me to manage this type of ice cream maker. So I purchased the KitchenAid model. This item is perfect for my needs.
