Great sandwich press!
I enjoy this pan immensely! It can make 4 sandwiches at once and the lid is heavy enough to press even the thickest sandwiches. Clean up is very easy and it takes up surprisingly little storage space, which is key in our small house. I wish it were more efficient for a glass top range, but I think there are ways to work around that. However, that was very clearly stated in the instructions. It makes great sandwiches, regardless! It would be nice if it was a little bit larger. The 4 sandwiches we made were not very big, but it worked well.

Super Sandwiches
This is great! The size is nice because, with a family of four big eaters, I needed something that would hold more than one sandwich at a time. Depending on the sandwich, i can make 2-4 at a time. A great time saver. The non-stick surface makes clean-up a breeze even with cheese. And, since it's All-Clad, the quality is amazing. With a little care, this will last a lifetime. The press is heavy enough to really meld the flavors together for a true panini.

Outstanding for Grilling Fish!
I use this pan mostly for grilling fish. We grill Halibut about 6 times a month. In the past I have had problems with this very tender fish sticking to my other grill pans. This paan was my 4th and it is wonderful. I have also used it for Panini's, Grilled Shrimp, "pressed chicken" I plan to buy another for our vacation home.

A Wonderful Pan!
This pan lives on our stove now! We put it away, then it's right back out. So now it lives on the stovetop. (So storage is NO problem! ;-)
Sandwiches have taken on a new taste. And it is great fun to test out the limits of what this pan can do (I am nowhere near the end yet! And I have been trying!).
The lid is heavy but once preheated, it does its job perfectly. And the size of the pan is perfect for the two of us.
Pros: Numerous.
Cons: None yet, and I doubt I'll fiind any.
We love this thing!

I love this Press
I think this is a great alternative to a bulky panini press and much easier to store. I not only whip up fast hot sandwiches, I use it to grill chicken and other meats using a "no fat method". It sears very well and the meats cook fast ...locking in all the moisture. The clean up is easy and I would recommend this pan to anybody. My kids find using the panini pan and press fun and they make their own creations on it regularly.

Better than an Electric Grill
After much research, I selected this panini press/grill for the following reasons:
1) large size
2) weight of the press. It's heavy enough to press even the thickest sandwich. Heavier than some other brands.
3) size of the press. It covers the entire pan, from edge to edge, top to bottom, also unlike some other brands that have presses much smaller than the size of the pan.
4) the press is ridged, just like the pan. Some brands have flat presses, so you would have to flip the food to get marks on both sides (if that's important to you).
5) no plastic parts. the entire pan and press can be put in the oven at any temp.
6) both handles (pan and press) stay cool to the touch while cooking on the stovetop.
7) clean-up is easy and the pan doesn't have to be "seasoned."
Best way to use:
1) Heat the pan and the press on separate burners before beginning any cooking. Apply oil just before adding food, or oil the food itself.
2) The press is heavy, so have a place prepared to set it down while you are flipping/moving the food. I place a piece of aluminum foil over another burner that is not being used and place the press on it.
Reason for rating:
I gave this pan 4 stars instead of 5 because it's shallower than I would like. So far, that has not been an issue, but more depth to the pan would be nice.

All-Clad LTD Panini Pan with Press - Fabulous!
I got this as a bonus with a set of All-Clad. We use it constantly on our gas stove...it's great for paninis as well as for cooking bacon (the press keeps it from curling). I would purchase it separately if I didn't have it already---it's a wonderful tool. I now make breakfast, lunch and dinner paninis!

Purchase
This pan would be great on a gas stove top as depicted in the ad. I would recommend it to gas stove owners. I have a ceramic smooth-top stove and this pan is less efficient. I enjoy my All-Clad pans, but this one was a disapointment..
