Taylor Thermometers are wonderful
This is a replacment for one I bought my husband last Christmas. He foregot to remove thermometer from meat before replacing lid on smoker.
He was sick...he loved his Taylor Instant Read Digital Thermometer. I don't think I have to worry about replacing this one anytime soon!

This item doesn't work. I called & the representative said that the battery might be dead. It is very hard to take apart to find the battery & I feel that it should have been functional upon delivery. Now I have to dig out the receipt, find a box & mail it back for an exchange, which at this time of the year is a monumental task, considering this is a $20 item. I am very dissatisfied!

Wonderful Purchase
I love the design of this thermometer it is easy to read and turns off if I forget to turn it off. Great feature. The cover for the probe portion is a great idea I was always disliked leaving the probe exposed to the germs in the air when not in use.

This is the second one I ordered and it does not work.
The first one was wonderful and loved how it worked.

Works great!
This instant read thermometer does exactly what is advertised. It is a great value for the cost. I would recommend it to anyone who needs an instant reading thermometer. I have used it mainly for baking bread and it has not failed me.

Poor design
The thermometer worked both times I used it in the last six months, then I tried to use it this week 04/03/11 and it appears the battery is dead. A few unintelligible characters scrolled across the screen before it went completely blank. I tried to find the battery, but destroyed the device by the time I found out how to open the case. Forget the digital, get an analog thermometer.
