Use and Care Instructions
Before first use, wash the press in hot soapy water, rinse and dry thoroughly.
For even cooking, use a frying pan, skillet or grill skillet that is only a littler larger than the press itself. Be sure there is always food between the pan and the press.
Use medium heat for cooking, lowering the heat when the pan or skillet grill is hot.
The press may reduce cooking times, so check cooking progress a little earlier than usual.
The press does not need to be pre-heated and can be applied straight to food in the pan.
Oil the press only for specific uses (i.e. sandwiches), or when using with sticky coated foods.
Use a potholder or oven glove to lift the hot press.
Stand hot press on a Le Creuset trivet, board or cloth, not directly on unprotected countertops.
If a press is banged against a hard surface or is dropped, it may chip or break.
Safe for oven or broiler use up to 400 F.
To maintain the beauty of your press's finish, hand-washing is recommended in hot sudsy water with a nylon brush or pad.
Cool press before washing in dishwasher or in hot soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly. Do not leave to drain or put away while still damp.
Remove stubborn food residues with a plastic or sponge scourer only - do not use metal scourers or abrasive cleaners of any kind.
Do not store press inside any pan with a nonstick finish as scratch damage may result. To protect surfaces when storing, use paper towels between the pan and the press.
