Care Instructions
Zwilling JA Henckels knives and shears are dishwasher safe but hand-washing is recommended. In the dishwasher, your Henckels knives and shears may bang against other cutlery or pots and pans and knick the blades.
Wipe the knife and shears clean with a wet cloth and dishwashing detergent. Dry immediately. Dry from the back of the knife to the blade.
Dust, fluff and the remains of cutting material should be wiped off the shears' cutting edges and blades.
No metal is completely stain-free. To prevent slight tarnishing, be sure to remove acidic foods (lemon, mustard, ketchup, etc.) from the blades after use. If blades should show some signs of staining, clean with a non-abrasive metal polish.
Occasionally the shears' screw slot and the joint area between should be oiled with a drop of fine oil. This will help ensure easy closing of the blades.
With extensive use, the shears may need to be re-ground and re-honed by a qualified specialist.
To prevent irreparable blade damage, it is best to store knives and shears in a knife block or in-drawer knife tray.
