Super Gadget
I bought this for my husband who is a roast chicken lover. After a single use he is in love with the vertical roaster. The chicken was delicious and surprisingly the cleanup was a breeze. I chose this product over others because it seemed to have the most stable base and the thought of hot liquid and fat tipping on a fire was pretty awful. This is good quality metal and well made--a total success.

Forget the beer can!
I used to bake or smoke whole chickens using the beer can technique - put herbs and spices in half a can of beer and stand the chicken up with the beer can inside it. But, a chicken on a beer can isn't very stable! The chicken in a can may easily tip over. This tool solves that problem and gives great results. I bought the set of 2 so that I could make enough chicken for a summer dinner party of 6 - 10 people. I figure one pound per person. So, I use 2 cornish game hens for 6 people or 2 5# chickens for 8 - 10 folks. I clean the inside of the tube with a bottle brush.

Love it, love it , love it! Makes the most moist and delicious chicken I have ever had. Simple to use and fail-proof. I bought a second one for a friend to enjoy. Thanks (worth every penny)

Easy to clean
Over the years I have tried numerous beer can chicken devices and they all worked BUT were difficult to clean. This stainless steel product is a breeze to clean and gives you the option to use any liquid you desire. I have four of them and freeze the 'planovers' via a food saver for future use. Life is now easier at my home.

Better n a beer can
Well made, quality construction, takes the beer can chicken concept into the 21st century! If you like to "Q", this things for you! I looked at several styles, this one seems to be the best, easy to use, easy to clean, just be sure you spray/wipe it with cooking oil before use, makes clean up a breeze! Better get two, when you cook birds this way, there are no leftovers!

Cleaned easily
Roaster cooked a nice chicken and the cooker cleaned easily. Fortunately put a rub under the skin. I don't think the "beer" in the tube made any difference in flavor.

Simple, effective. Disregard cooking instructions.
Simple, sanitary clever adaptation of "beer can" approach/recipes.
However enclosed cooking instructions (90 minutes at approx 350F is too low and too long) were misleading: The skin never browned sufficiently and the lengthy time left the meat dry.
Furthermore, putting aromatics inside the "can" (I used wine) made very little difference in the aroma or taste, since I think it was never sufficiently warmed at the settings recommended.
Nevertheless, the upright position made basting easier and I will try it again.

BY FAR THE MOST MOIST. TENDER FOWL COOKER AVAILABLE ... WHEN THE WHITE MEAT IS AS JUICY AS THE DARK MEAT ... ALL IN THE SAME PAN ... YOU KNOW THERE IS SOMETHING SPECIAL ABOUT IT.
