A must for candy making
Our church makes peanut brittle every year as a major fund-raising project. Accurate temperature control during the cooking process is imperative for a successful product. We have always used the digital thermometer and rely on it's accurate readings and the reliability of the product itself.

Best Thermometer I've Ever Owned
I recently purchased this digital oil and candy thermometer -- it is the best ever! In the last three years I have purchased several and received a couple as gifts (none of which worked very well) but this one is excellent. It easily attaches to the side of my pan and the numbers are easy to read. I appreciate its ease of use.
Not only would I recommend this to a friend -- I may purchase this particular thermometer for gifts this coming Christmas!

Well constructed, protected, etc - husband used to fry a turkey on Christmas day and said it worked perfectly.

Excellent Candy Thermometer
I received a thermometer like this several years ago as a gift and use it at least once every month. I love it. It makes candy making a lot easier and more foolproof. One day, my sister was helping me with candy and loved how easy this thermometer is to use and wanted one for herself. When the opprotunity to buy this one came up I had to get it for her. She loves toffee and now she can make her own.

Features
I have not used it yet, but when I opened it and read the instructions, I was impressed with the features: the read-out tilts for much easier viewing; I can actually read the display without squinting, you can set it for a certain temp and it will beep when reached (this means you don't have to guess if you are looking at the right line like on the other candy thermometers; the clip for the pan is very well done. Overall, it appears to be more than worth the money.

Accurate Easy to Use
I like that you can use this thermometer on pans with sloping sides. It is easy to use and is accurate.

Love the digital reading
This is the best candy thermometer I have ever used. I love how it clips on to my pots, and the digital reading is great. I love this candy thermometer so much that I purchased one now for my sister, I know she'll love it too!

Stopped working during first use,
I was so excited to find this digital candy thermometer - exaxctly what I was looking for. Unfortunately, I didn't even get one batch of peanut brittle made before it stoped registering the temperature. We changed batteries and tried again - stopped working again. Cleaning is also a problem. Your supposed to wipe with a damp cloth and not submerse in water. It is next to impossible to get it clean if you can't soak it in hot water! I plan to return asap!
