I purchased this set in February 2008. It is November 2008 and my utensil set still looks as beautiful as it did when I first received it! I use them every day for each meal that I prepare and afterwards they are washed in lukewarm, soapy water, dried, and oiled with a dab of olive oil. There is no splitting of the wood or discoloration, even after all the use that they get in my kitchen. This is definitely a set worth every penny and with care, will last indefinitely.
