Poultry marinated in our brining blend emerges wonderfully moist and flavorful. The meat marinates and the salt penetrates it along with the moisture and seasonings. The result: savory juiciness but no saltiness. Clean-up is easier when you use heavy-duty cooking bags with zipper-seals.
Turkey Brining Kit Includes:
Set of 2 Turkey brining bags: 23.75" x 19.5", 4-gal., each bag holds up to 23 lb. turkey.
Brining blend 2.5 lbs, enough for up to a 24 lb. turkey.
Chicken Brining Kit Includes:
Set of 4 Chicken Brining Bags: 14"sq., 1.5-gal., each bag holds a 6-8 lb. chicken.
Brining blend: 2.5 lbs, enough for four 6 lbs. chickens.
Brining Blend contains:
Minced garlic, coarse sea salt, basil, lemon peel, black pepper, rosemary, sage. Total weight: 2.5 lbs.
Prepared & packaged in a facility that also handles: Wheat/gluten, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, dairy, soy.
Directions for Use:
In a large saucepan over high heat, bring 5 1/2 cups of water to a boil. Add 1 cup brine blend and boil for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature. Transfer to the refrigerator and chill thoroughly, about 1 hour.
In a 2-gallon container, combine chilled brine with 8 cups of water. Add one 4- to 5-lb. chicken, cover the container with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 6 hours to overnight. Remove the chicken from the brine, rinse thoroughly with cold water and pat dry. Roast as desired.
Recipe can be doubled or tripled for larger chickens or turkeys. Brining time should not exceed 18 hours.
