The Mini Empire Island offers many of the same space-saving features as the original Empire Island, only this handsome piece suits smaller kitchens.
Crafted of solid northern hardwood, the rugged islands include a pull-out leaf that is a 30" table height to allow for seating when preparing food. Lower-tiered leaf also makes for easy handling of ingredients into bowls and mixers. The cabinet doors open to an interior shelf that adjusts to fit your specific space needs. The portable islands offer full extension glides on both the leaf and drawer for easy access.

Use and Care
• Although the butcher block top is made for cutting and chopping, most people do not directly cut and chop on the tabletop since cuts and scratches somewhat mar the beauty of the top. Try using a cutting board or chopping block placed on the top. Scratches can be removed by sanding with fine grit sandpaper.
• Most spills are easily wiped clean with a damp sponge or cloth. Never soak or let water stand on the island for long periods of time as water affects the grain, and even though the glue is water-resistant, it is not waterproof. Be sure to clean the top well with a mild detergent, rinsing it well with a damp sponge and toweling dry before applying new oil.
• Never use solvents, paint thinners or bleach on your Catskill Craftsmen piece.
• To help seal and improve the longevity of your butcher block product, it is best to oil the wood once a month for the first few months. Try Catskill's Original Butcher Block Oil or another high-quality linseed or mineral oil. You should oil all parts, inside and outside, including the bottom of the work center top. Since the cart top and edges tend to dry out more with use and cleaning, be sure to oil these areas well. Boiled linseed oil is not recommended, since it is not highly refined and often leaves a tacky surface.
