Use and Care

• Clean the exterior of the sharpener by wiping with a damp soft cloth. Do use detergents or abrasive cleaners.

This knife sharpener was bought as a Christmas gift. The one receiving enters B-B-Q cook-offs. I purchased this product because it easy to handle, takes up little space and is efficient. Quickest, sharpest and easiest knife blade ever. I gave up long ago on using motor-driven knife sharpeners. They break easily, and the knife fails to get as sharp as I require for my use. A sharp knife is a safe knife. This is the first unit of this type I have used. My other sharpeners (German) are excellent, but the Chef'sChoice Pronto Manual Diamond Hone Knife Sharpener #464 has the feature of pulling and pushing the blade through the honing slots. I Love it This particular hone #464 is designed to work with Japanese Santoku knives and it works very well. I just use the hone rather than sharpener. January 10, 2013

Good idea for future gifts I purchased this item for my son and his wife. Since I am always in need of sharpening my knives, we gave it a test run. Wow!! It did a great job--putting a nice edge on my cutlery. Now I would like to treat myself to getting one to have in my kitchen. December 28, 2012

Might get better with time After reading other user comments, we thought this might be a more efficient way to keep our knives sharp. But it might take more practice. So far we've noticed scratch marks on the sides of the knives without noticeable sharpening of the cutting edge. The instructions indicate quite a bit of effort is needed to use the product, so we'll keep trying to match those instructions and get more proficient. October 29, 2012
