"Originally when I bought this item about a year ago it was simpler (did not julienne and wasn't constructed as sturdily as it is now). It broke in the middle of slicing very hard onions. The blade just came out and got stuck in the onion. I was very upset because I loved this little mandoline, so versatile. It was light and compact. I could hold it over anything that I needed to slice. Even a pan on the stove, while it was cooking, I could slice into it. I went online and saw this very similar item. well this is even better. It's more sturdy but still light and compact and now it juliennes. Fabulous. Thanks for making improvements that count and make it even better. I can still do all I did before but confident that it will hold up and last."
