Worth the Extra Money
Love, love, LOVE making better than restaurant fries with ease in my own kitchen. After contemplating the cheaper versions, and reading bad reviews about how the blades break and bend so easy, I decided to go with this one. Great choice. It is so easy to use, and the blades are sturdy and sharp. Cuts through large potatoes and sweet potatoes with ease. My son loves the home made fries. Do yourself a favor, spend the little bit of extra money for a quality product that actually works and will last. You'll be glad you did.

Real French Fries at Home
This is a serious kitchen tool found often in restaurants. Mounting it horizontally with the suction cups works well however it requires more than average strength. The handle needs to be "pumped" hard several times before the potato gets through the cutters. Best to mount it vertically with industrial strength bolts maybe in the garage. Then do a chin up holding the handle. This will work. Whatever strategy you follow the result is perfectly cut potatoes.

No mamby-pamby cutter here!
Built like a battleship, but doesn't bend or break easily. Storage space required.

Great value
I can't believe the quality of this cutter for the money. When I opened the box and pulled it out I would have expected to pay much more for it. I would recommend this to anyone.

The Greatest French Fry Cutter in the World!
This is the most awesome french fry cutter I have ever seen or used! Solid, heavy duty. It is very easy to use and fast on cutting the frys! Very easy to clean! Large size but still is easy to handle and store! If needing a large amount of frys, this is the way to go! This will probably last forever, I would recommend this to everyone!

Disappointing Product
I have not been very impressed with this product.
First, the blades are apparently not very sharp so it requires excessive force to push potatoes through. '
Second, the online photo shows the appliance on a wooden cutting board. That's a laugh. Even on a quartz counter top, the rear suction cups pull loose when trying to french a medium sweet potato.
Third, who wants a home appliance that requires disassembly wth a philips-head screw driver in order to clean it. That may be fine if you used it in a restaurant to french 50 pounds of potatoes, but it doen't make any sense for home use and two pounds of potatoes.
This product needs some serious redesign if you're going to continue to market as suitable for home use. At the very least, the phillips-head screws should be replaced with wing nuts.

Heavy Duty with Limits
This works well cuttting faster and more evenly than you could by hand. However, I have not found it possible to run a potato through without cutting it into quarters first, no matter how hard I press. Not a big problem except that you can't get fries the entire length of the potato. Of course, it is much more of a struggle -- and a dangerous one-- using a mandolin. BTW the optional cutting blade makes fries the standard size; the blade that comes with it cuts them smaller; there is no shoestring blade that I know of. This is a large very heavy very impressive unit well worth the money. The strength of the suction cups on a granite counter is almost overwhelming; I slide a thin knife under them to get them loose one at a time holding the device aloft as I do so.
