A Scoop Like None Other
Wow! Where's this tool been all my life. If you like or prefer to strain your pasta without dumping all the water out, this is an excellent tool...if you don't already have a strainer as part of your pasta pot.
It's great for removing vegetables that you blanch.
Easy to clean and use.
The hardest part for me was where to store it. I have it hanging with my pots and pans. It won't fit in a drawer...at least not without taking over a drawer.

A more efficient tool for my kitchen
I first saw the large scoop colander on the Giada De Laurentis Italian Cooking Show and I was very impressed with the scoop. When I found it at Chef's I was very pleased and ordered it immediately. Scooping the pasta from the boiling water into the waiting large skillet with the sauce for the final few minutes of cooking is a dream with the large scoop colander and if you need additional pasta water for your sauce it is right there - you have not put it down the drain as you would with a regular colander in the sink.......The size of the scoop colander is just right and easy to work with. I will use this item quite often for pasta and when blanching vegetables.

Fantastic for Pan draining
I just received this item and simply LOVE IT. I have used it more than one time every day. Great for straining food items directly from the pan, fits across my sink so as to let things drain. Love it very much!!!

Great product!
This product is wonderful when you have a small quantity of pasta or other food and don't want to use a regular size colander. It's also easier to store.

Scooper Dooper
I make a lot of pasta and boiled potatoes. This makes it so easy to remove from the hot water. So much easier than pouring the hot water into a colander standing in the sink and the possibility of getting scalded. Much safer to use. And the size is perfect -- not too big; not too small.

Looks great but much too big!
This looked great in the catalog but is so large it will fit only into the largest of pots. It would be much more useful if half the size. My husband pointed out that we have no place to store it.

Item is too large for practical use in the everyday kitchen.

Gentle with Ravioli
Using this scoop was a lot more gentle on the ravioli than dumping them from a pot of boiling water into a colander in the sink.
