Good design
This is a good addition to my kitchen and I am sure it will be nice when I make candy. It hangs closer to the side of the pan and the bottom of it keeps the tip of the thermometer from touching the bottom of the pan. I think this will be much better than the ones where the thermometer sticks out at an angle making stirring difficult. It is quite long but the sliding clip will let it fit most pans. Now I am using it to check the temperature of boiled milk when I am making yogurt.

Best Purchase EVER
I have had a candy thermometer for years then I thought things just do not work like they should so off searching I went, I have been looking for about a year then I googled it! Should have done that in the first place, Chef's was an awesome company the purchase was easy, the price was right and the thermometer is AWESOME!!!! Nice sized, easy to read, sturdy, I could not be any happier! Nice product nice company Love IT!!!! Oh I also forgot to mention it can be used for candy or oil - I have never seen a thermometer that can do both! Excellent value for the money!!!

nice thermometer
I have only used this once so far -- for tracking the temperature of milk while heating to make yogurt - and it worked very well. I like that it clips to the side of the pan. It is larger than looks in photos, but easy to read and use.

great features and accuracy
This is a solid thermometer. It is easy to clip onto the pan and has a brace at the bottom that prevents the thermometer from hitting the bottom of the pan. When I tested it with boilng water before using it to make candy, I found it to be accurate to 1 degree. Also easy to clean.

great features
can see all numbers no problem. can adjust depth no problem. In all very easy to use a lot bigger than I thought but that is good for me very reasonably priced very strong construction

I saw this on the cooking show with Sunny Anderson and i just had to have it to replace a bulky glass one.
