Needs at 1/8" disc
The design of the rolling pin is good in general, but I was disappointed that it didn't have a 1/8" disc, which is the thickness that I would use the most often for pie crusts and cookies. It comes with 1/16", 1/4" and 3/8" discs. I will probably never use the 1/16" and 3/8" discs.

Great Product!
I recently opened my own bakery business and bought this rolling pin to make rolling out pastry dough easier. I LOVE it! I don't have to worry about making sure the dough is rolled to the appropriate thickness. I know it will be the same every time I use it. Another great feature, the discs store right on the rolling pin so you'll never misplace them. It is also super easy to clean.
The only downside I've found is that you're limited to the length of the pin in regards to how large you can roll dough. With the discs on, they'll mark up and tare the dough if the surface area is larger than the pin.
Regardless of the downside mentioned, I would still recommend this product and I plan to continue using it.

Novel idea
Rolling out dough evenly and to the right thickness probably takes more practice than I would ever get. This rolling pin always seemed like a great idea for me (almost a must), but I never bought it until now because it seems to lack a recommendation by a well-known chef. So I decided to go ahead and get it during the free shipping event. Construction and quality are good, easy to clean and seems to work well. The only drawback I can see is that it isn't possible to roll out anything wider than the area between the disks, but fortunately that usually won't be necessary.

needs a 1/8 disc
The rolling pin has a great concept but the disc size is either to thin or thick, there should be a 1/8 disc you hardly use the 1/16 since it's too thin and 1/4 is too thick for most pastery. I called the company and asked for a 1/8 disc but was told many people have requested it but they won't product one, too bad for the bakers, otherwise a great idea.

Great Features!
Haven't purchased a new rolling pin in 20 years and glad I waited!. Light weight and love the weights to help with thickness of dough. My pies were quite the talk this Christmas. Easy to store and clean! Would HIGHLY recommend!

It's my new favorite gizmo.
I used it for making my Christmas cut out cookies. Because the dough rolled out in a uniformed depth, my decorated cookies looked liked they came from a high end bakery.
I did not pay too much for this rolling pin. It's my new favorite gizmo.
