Still looking to the the ideal food mill
This food mill worked okay for a while. I used it to remove seeds and skins from canned whole tomatoes.
It has a smaller capacity than others I have owned.
Its rubber legs will melt if you sit the food mill on a hot pot for more than three cans of tomatoes.
The blade does not glide tightly enough against the disc so food gets caught between the blade and the disc -- never pressing through.
Lastly, I had to toss it last week as it just took too long to purée one can of tomatoes.
I guess I will go back to the cheap no name brand, which I know in advance will need replacement in a year.

Great food mill
My wife's the chef in the house and coming from a man's perspective on this product, it's very sturdy and well made. It doesn't feel like you could easily break or bend any of the components. My wife used it and was also very pleased with its design and functionality.

maybe defective??
seemed sturdy, price was good and should have been great based on the other reviews. Maybe I got a defective on because mine scrapes the metal disks unevenly and leaves scratches. Easy to assemble and I have tried different orientations but still scrapes in the same place relative to the base. Will be returning...

Made making apple butter a snap!
The food mill arrived quickly and made making a peck of apples into apple butter a snap.. As others have noted, the legs could have been designed better. The mill slipped occasionally from the bowl I had it resting on, but that was easier then dealing with peeling a peck of apples.

This is a wonderful product
I don't know why I waited so long to purchase this item. It works beautifully. The finished product was exactly what I hoped for. This product makes working with apples, potatoes, etc. sooooo easy. From now on, I will make sure I always have a food mill on hand.

not worth the trouble for mashed potatoes
I'm a big fan of OXO products. Decent quality for a reasonable price. This food mill was fairly sturdy but it was still a 2 man job if you wanted to get done before the potatoes cooled. The capacity was small enough that numerous batches had to be milled. I think I'll go back to my tried and true way using a hand beater or my Kitchen Aid mixer. This food mill might be useful for those dedicated moms that want to make their own baby food but I returned it.

Decent product...but
This foodmill is a bit pricey but it does the job. The legs are a bit short for use over a large stockpot which means using a smaller pot and transfering the sauce to the larger one. At times the legs can be a bit akward. I also have the Norpro with no legs and only 2 screens. Still deciding which one is better.

Great Product
Purchased this to make baby food and it just sat in the box, took it out for canning tomatoes. What a great help! It was very simple to put together and to use. The only drawback I encountered was the size of the bowl. I would have prefered a larger receptacle to process the tomatoes in, but perhaps that may have made it too difficult to manuever. Either way it made my first attempt at preserving tomato sauce a very positive one.
