Great coffee maker; just as fast as my electric.
I was very pleasantly surprised by the good taste of the coffee; the ease of preparation and the ease of cleaning. It is of added value where we live because we do lose electricity from mountain storms. It is a good-looking addition to the breakfast table which is more than I can say for myself sometimes. The technology of the brewing filter is impressive and very 21st century.

love this pot!
I love the looks of this pot, the ease of cleaning, and the great taste of the coffee! I can use it for tea, and for cold brew for iced coffee. It doesn't take up so much space, and is just what I was looking for. No mess with purchasing filters, and overheated, acidic coffee! I LOVE this pot!

I bought this so I wouldn't have to worry about running out of the paper filters. It works just great.

SOWDEN SOFTBREW COFFEE
I was extremely pleasantly surprised at the wonderful brewed coffee. I read all the reviews prior to making my purchase and they were all true. This system make a remarkable cup of coffee and in less than 8 minutes (of course the water has to be piping hot) i love very strong coffee and I used to use a French press, with the Sowden the best part is the clean up which is very easy and quick. I truly recommend this product.

Too small
The title of the review says it all. I hesitate to write a review when I didn't actually use it. I took it out of the box, thought it looked much smaller from the bottom to the max fill line, put water in it, and poured the water into the carafe of the pot it would be replacing, a 4-cup Mr. Coffee. It held half as much. Another reviewer said to take the "four-cup" description with a grain of salt but you need to take it with lots of grains of salt. It looks nice, and there is a larger size, but more than I want to spend. So I regretfully returned it. But as always with Chefs, returning is incredibly easy and Customer Service is great.

A wonderful coffee pot
I had mine for several months when suddenly appeared a crack near the handle. I never mishandled it and live alone, so no one else did either. I had to return it for a credit. I am sorry it did not stand up to general use. I think it was a fluke, but all the same, I did not reorder one.
I would still recommend this coffee pot but be aware of the possibility of it cracking near the handle.

Concentrated Soft Brewed coffee.
Besides making brewed coffee from two different packages of grounds, I made a coffee concentrate by filling the filter basket with grounds and water and letting the coffee maker sit overnight in the refrigerator. I then poured the liquid into ice cube trays so I can have instant soft brewed coffee by pouring hot water over however many coffee cubes I want, to vary the strength. It is delicious either way, made fresh or in a concentrate.

diaappointed
This is too muck like a french press but does not make good coffee like a french press does. Own a french press so this was not a pot I needed. Bought because thought it would be like a drip pot I remembered from childhood that my Mom had.
