Use and Care

• Before using the Scanpan IQ fry pan for the first time, hand wash in warm soapy water. The cookware is dishwasher-safe, but hand washing is recommended.

• After each use, allow cookware to cool prior to cleaning to prevent the base from warping. Wash the nonstick fry pan in warm soapy water. The cookware should be completely clean before storing.

• The nonstick skillet is oven-safe to 500 F and safe for broiler use.

• Use the cookware with all types of utensils, but nonmetal utensils are recommended to better protect the cookware surface.

• When frying with fat, heat your Scanpan IQ fry pan to cooking temperature using medium heat, then add the fat. When frying without fat, heat your pan to cooking temperature using medium heat, then start to fry.

• Do not use aerosol sprays as this can affect the pan's nonstick surface.

• Do not over heat the nonstick fry pan as this will reduce the nonstick performance and overheating is not covered by the warranty.

• Do not use your Scanpan IQ nonstick skillet to store food.

• Burn marks due to overheating or charring of fatty substances can be removed by filling Scanpan IQ fry pan 3/4 full with water and bringing to a slow boil using medium heat. Next add a dessert spoon of dishwashing liquid and simmer for 15 minutes. Then rinse and clean cookware as usual.

• Some signs of normal wear will not affect the nonstick finish.

Quite a pan! This pan is phenominal! Solidly made and great quality. Pricey, but well worth it. Even cooking. Easy to clean with just hand washing. I plan to replace my other non-stick pans with the same Scanpan pans. January 29, 2013

Vast improvement Scanpan is my current favorite manufacturer. I've had the 12" classic for a few years and it has held up well. Bought the 10+" Pro a couple of years ago and it has not held up over time. Just replaced it with the IQ and am very pleased with the quality of the product, a vast improvement over the previous models. Even heating and a truly non-stick cooking surface combine with a heavy feel and improved handle design will most likely find me purchasing a couple of more in the IQ line. December 29, 2012

I'll never buy another pan. I love the Scanpan Frying Pans!! They are great for eggs, because the eggs don't stick at all. Easy clean up and you can use any utensils. November 13, 2012

Where has this been all my life! I thought I had good pans before, and I did, but nothing else compares. This pan is weighted perfectly so that heat is distributed absolutely evenly. The non-stick feature works do well that food has real flavor and real texture, not that rubbery non-stick feel you get with others. The pan is heavy enough to handle serious cooking, but not too heavy to lift comfortably. August 18, 2012

Outstanding fry pan Although I have only used this pan about a dozen times, it cleans up very quickly, heats very evenly, and nothing at all sticks to the pan. I don't know how I would improve upon this pan! July 30, 2012

This is the best pan ever This is the second scan pan I've bought from Chef's Catalog and I couldn't be happier with them. I'm still considering buying the, I think it's called, the chef's pan with two hand held handles with higher sides, as that's my only gripe with the pan. August 17, 2012
