Use and Care
Before using the Scanpan IQ wok for the first time, hand wash in warm soapy water. The cookware is dishwasher-safe, but hand washing is recommended.
After each use, allow cookware to cool prior to cleaning to prevent the base from warping. Wash the nonstick wok in warm soapy water. The cookware should be completely clean before storing.
The Scanpan wok is oven-safe to 500 F and safe for broiler use.
Use the Scanpan IQ cookware with all types of utensils, but nonmetal utensils are recommended to better protect the cookware surface.
When frying with fat, heat your nonstick wok to cooking temperature using medium heat, then add the fat. When frying without fat, heat your pan to cooking temperature using medium heat, then start to fry.
Do not use aerosol sprays as this can affect the pan's nonstick surface.
Do not over heat the Scanpan IQ wok as this will reduce the nonstick performance and overheating is not covered by the warranty.
Do not use your nonstick wok to store food.
Burn marks due to overheating or charring of fatty substances can be removed by filling Scanpan IQ wok 3/4 full with water and bringing to a slow boil using medium heat. Next add a dessert spoon of dishwashing liquid and simmer for 15 minutes. Then rinse and clean cookware as usual.
Some signs of normal wear will not affect the nonstick finish.
