Scan Pan products are great!
This product is great! We use it for pancakes, french toast and sandwiches. The color is uniform and it heats evenly. It also cleans up very easily unlike the popular non-stick caphalon pans that I can't wait to replace! Can't wait to get more Scan Pan products.

so far, so really good
I just received the Scanpan Classic Square Griddle and have only used it twice, but I love it so far.
This griddle replaces a Calphaon that only lasted about a year, so the bar was not that high. I bought it because they say it has a lifetime warranty, it can go in the dishwasher, and you can use any type of utensil on it.
Well, when you get it, the instructions say you can put it in the dishwasher, but they do not recommend it. I wash these by-hand anyway, so that was not a big deal.
I occasionally turn bacon with a fork, which tore apart the Calphalon, so we will see if this one performs to the promise of being able to use metal utensils.
The non-stick properties are amazing. Eggs and bacon slide off perfectly and it washes clean with a gentle scrub with the soft side of a dishwashing sponge.
It feels substantial, unlike the Calphalon, which gives me some perceptual comfort for now. However, my wife thinks it is a bit too heavy. It's about the same weight as a typical frying pan, so judge for yourself.
So far, I love it. Only time will tell if it is worth the substantially higher price vs. similar griddles.

Square pan good for many things...
I purchased two, one for my son who loves to cook and one for myself . Son loves his. The Product arrived in a timely fashion. wonderful sleek clean look, works as stated. If there is a drawback.... people over 62 may find this a little heavy to pick up. otherwise what a nice pan!

Excellent cookware
This is my fifth piece of Scanpan. Excellent product. With the right care, this will last a lifetime.

Great Purchase
I am very happy with my purchase. Much better than the Caphalon pan I replaced. I researched different griddles and kept coming back to the Scanpan. I highly recommend.

Added to my Great Pans
This was the third Scanpan that I purchased to replace an old store brand pan. I love the pan as much as my other Scan pans. The past reviews were right that the handle could be more comfortable, so gave it a 4 rating. The performance, even heating, and easy clean up make me a fan for life of these pans. I used the hot pad hand grip that came with my large round scanpan, so have solved the handle issue when using it.
You won't be sorry with this purchase.

Android Pan is high-tech but lacks substance
I have never liked non-stick cookware but I was sold on the intuitive pairing of a ceramic-titanium coating and aluminum base offered by Scanpan (and the fact that no one seems to offer something as simple and useful as a square griddle pan in stainless steel). Even though this is indeed a very high-quality item, it still has not changed my mind about non-stick one bit (in fact, I like "non-stick" even less after buying this item).
Several months ago, I found a great bread for making French toast and before purchasing the Scanpan, I would make the toast in a large, old, round, thin stainless fry pan from Faberware. The round pan could only cram 3 slices at a time and needed to be cleaned/reheated between batches to prevent burning. Nevertheless, with a coat of butter in a clean pan, the toast cooked golden, bounced like a giant marshmallow and tasted, literally, literally, like candy. You could eat it "dry" or with syrup - it was great either way.
The Scanpan easily manages 4 slices of French toast at once (not crammed) and still fits fine on a four-burner electric range. A thick and round raised base bolstering thinner square corners traps, holds and distributes heat superbly at the surface. (While I am prepping, I let the pan warm up bare on medium heat with no grease for at least five minutes with no smoke or other problems arising.) Low sides, however, prevent heat from building up above the surface and surrounding the food which increases the time and energy needed to cook thick items through.
The Scanpan is technically great, but the food is just not the same. I have to spread the butter manually across the pan because it will not slide across the surface on its own (you can hold the pan sideways and the melted butter will not budge). Even then, it tends to "bead" or collect in certain areas leaving other areas bare. The toast comes out golden and bouncy but the taste is completely different. It has a distinct, almost "cheese" taste to it when cooked on the Scanpan and has not improved after several uses.
It would be nice if someone offered an 11" square griddle in stainless steel -- the lip of the pan is raised enough to keep grease and debris in the pan and off the stove yet low enough for easy cleaning. I have never liked the way foods cook on non-stick and the Scanpan is no exception. The quality and durability of the pan and non-stick coating certainly seems great; ergonomics and balance are excellent; construction seems very good or great; aesthetics are clean, simple and cooperative but none of this is worth anything if the food tastes "non-stick".

Very good product
Our Scanpan Classic Square Griddle does just what we hoped it would do--great pancakes with no sticking.
Why four stars rather than five? The handle is more comfortable than some, but less comfortable than others. This is a HEAVY griddle and design engineers should pay more attention to providing the most comfortable handle possible to handle the weight.
