excellent extra burner for cooking
Purchased this burner for temporary cooking duty until the kitchen is built - heats fast - works great with skillet - hope to use it for canning purposes - cleans easy - just be careful after using as it retains heat for quite a while - very pleased !!!

solid product
I needed a more-controllable burner even though i have an electric stove. I have a 15" wide saute pan and this burner is actually big enough to heat it.
I am going to make some really nice Osso Buco!
It does heat up and cool down slowly as other reviewers have mentioned, but that is inherent in this type of product. It has a quality feel and does not seem like it will wear out any time soon.

Powerful and Efficient
Very good German burner. 1500 Watts gives good power. Just put it on high for ten minutes (as instructions say) before using it and it will smoke to seal the burner. After that it is very clean.

Exactly what I wanted
I'm doing some remodeling and will be without a stove in the kitchen for several months, so I needed something that would replace a stovetop burner. I'd tried several wimpier products that simply would not boil enough water for my morning coffee - grrr. This is doing it, and doing it well. There is a slight smell, even after a week or so of use, but it's diminishing. It seems to cool down less quickly than the burners on my old stove top. I'm very happy overall. It's a well-made unit and does the work I wanted it to do.

A great extra burner
This spare burner has 1,500 Watts and is quite powerful. It works great and the stainless steel surface is easy to clean. The burner requires an initial heating up to maximal temperature to seal the burner surface. I recommend you do this outside, because this produces a considerable amount of smoke. Perfect function after that.
