Easiest shredding ever
I love my KitchenAid and now after using my slicer/shredder I love it even more. I was able to shredd a 2 pound block of colby cheese in less than a minute and it was fun. Can't wait to slice some veggies.

use this for potatoes, cucumbers, cheese and all kinds of veggies! very durable and built with quality in mind.

Win, win, win...
So far I have only used the slicer blade, but it works like a charm. In no time I had evenly sliced cabbage and onions for the dish I was making. Everything cleans up in a snap, and it is simple to connect and disconnect from the power hub on the mixer. I am VERY happy with my purchase, and the price here was the best I found followed by very prompt delivery.

yes and no
i disagree, sort of.
i give this attachment four stars because i use it to create fine nut-meal to use in batters, doughs, it's great for marzipan, or to make nut-butters (hello, pistachio).
it's perfect for this, you can control the work more, compared to a food processor.
i use it often.
but recently i used the fine shredder to create zucchini gratings for a cake.
"brute force" or "smusher" doesnt begin to describe.
like, should i really be pushing this hard? probably not.
too much pressure on the attachment shaft.
the quality of the gratings was just okay.
i'll think twice before using it to slice delicate vegetables.

Not worthy of the brand
I expected slices and shreds comparable to a food processor, I was massively disappointed. The âbladesâ arenât sharp, so they rely on brute force which often tears the things they are supposed to slice. I tried the different blades on different objects but there is no way you are going to get the clean edges you see in the cucumber picture that abounds on the web. About the only thing I could see it doing a good job on is shredded cheese youâre going to melt. Why do that when there are solid products that sell for the same price as this attachment that can handle cheese, as well as anything else you can throw at them. I own and love all my other KitchenAid products, but this little gadget is a waste of money.

Smusher Not Slicer
First let me tell you, I am a long time fan of KitchenAid products. That being said, I had very high hopes of loving this attachment. I visualized my cucumbers being quickly & evenly sliced and carrots & cheeses being easily shredded. What I experienced was total frustration. Cucumbers not only sliced in various shapes & thickness, but also smushed between the metal slicer insert & white frame. I didn't have any better luck with the grater. Large slabs of cheese slid between the metal grater insert & white metal frame. Definately took more patience than I have and caused more clean up work than slicing & grating by hand. However, I will not give up on KitchenAid and plan to now order the grinder attachment. Hopefully, I will fall in love with it!
