I too agree with the first reviewer, MOMMYBELL, you need to use lots of water to use the pot for pasta and by doing that it will "spit" water onto you stovetop while the pasta is cooking in the past insert. I still use it for pasta but very carefully. I love the steamer insert and I love the size of the pot. I can cook a New England Boiled dinner or Corned Beef and Cabbage with room to spare. I have other Stainless All-Clad pieces and this one is made well but keep in mind if you are looking for all stainless, this is brushed stainless on the pot as shown in the picture. The lid and the inserts are the shiny stainless. That doesn't bother me because I was looking for a good quality All-Clad piece that I didn't have to mortgage my house! I am happy with my purchase and would recommend. Learn More
