Crunchy Granola Bars

Ingredients

2 cups quick-cooking rolled oats
3/4 cup dark brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup wheat germ
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 cup unbleached all-purpose flour
1 cup cranberries, or dried fruit of choice
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup honey
1 large egg, beaten
1/2 cup canola oil
2 teaspoons vanilla

Cooking Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 F. Grease 9x13 inch baking dish, generously.

In a large mixing bowl combine all ingredients and stir until uniformly combined. Press mixture into prepared pan and bake in preheated oven 35 to 30 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool in pan for 5 minutes. Using a sharp chef's knife, cut into 24 bars while the mixture is still warm.

For an extra treat dip in melted chocolate and let dry completely.

Store in airtight container.
