Ro (Rosanne) Zinniger
Ro Zinniger, owner of Ro Z's Sweet Art Studio, has been a professional cake stylist and instructor for over 10 years. Ro grew up in an Italian household and learned to bake at a young age. Cake decorating began as a hobby, inspired by her love of crafting. At 19, however, Ro decorated her first wedding cake.
Ro graduated from SDSU and worked in the corporate world until 14 years ago when she returned to her first love: decorating. She was selling her creations through her company, Cakes by Rosanne, but was yearning for more. So, she began teaching decorating. To become more proficient in her craft, she studied with cake decorating greats including her mentor, Colette Peters, Debbie Brown, Mark Seaman, Norm Davis/Zane Berg, Ruth Rickey, Kathy Scott and Laurie Bradach
Ro is passionate about teaching others. Her forte is working with fondant, a decorating material that has a variety of design applications. Ro's teaching philosophy is not only to show the technique, but also to make sure each student understands the mechanics behind the technique. Her non-intimidating approach has led to hundreds of student success stories.
Ro is a celebrity in her own right with guest appearances on The Food Network, Celebrity Chef, TLC Fabulous Cakes and local television stations. In 2011, Ro joined Alchemy of the Hearth as a guest instructor, teaching the art of fondant, sugar art and cake décor.
Presently, she is partnering with Satin Fine Foods - Rolled Fondant and Gum Paste, where she demonstrates and teaches with their products and sells their products in her retail store. Ro supports many nonprofits and charities including the Helen Woodward Animal Center and Cupcakes for Critters.
