Change begins at home. It is with this simple philosophy that accomplished chef Jonathon Sawyer left behind the big city kitchens of New York and returned to his native Cleveland. Driven by two guiding principles: the belief that the proximity of farm-to-table correlates directly to the quality of the food and that environmentally conscious business practices are imperative, Jonathon and his wife Amelia opened The Greenhouse Tavern, the first certified green restaurant in the state. With his commitment to sustainability and his boundless creativity both in and outside the kitchen, Chef Sawyer is defining the Edgë.
No stranger to culinary success, Jonathon was named one of Food and Wine's Best New Chefs of 2010. As he continues in his personal journey to help the revival of downtown Cleveland, many more accolades are sure to follow.
