Heath Bar Lovers Homemade Ice Cream

Active Time:
10 minutes
Total Time:6 hours (to account for the ice cream to properly freeze)
Level: Easy

Ben & Jerry’s really do make incredible ice cream. We especially love their Vanilla Toffee Bar Crunch. You would never realize how easy it can be to make on your own at home. We made this tweaked Ben and Jerry’s recipe for a party recently and it was a big hit. The title should warn you, if you don’t love Heath Bars, this isn’t the ice cream for you! We used a Cuisinart ice cream machine to make this (make sure to follow the directions to avoid a huge mess)!

Ingredients

2 eggs
½ cup sugar
1 pint heavy whipping cream
1 cup whole milk
3 teaspoons vanilla
7 Heath Bars

Directions

Important: Your ice cream maker bowl should have been in the freezer for about 48 hours!

Beat the eggs for 2-3 minutes until nice and incorporated.

Slowly whisk in the remaining of the ingredients, except the bars.

Pour the mixture into the machine. Let that go for about 15 minutes.

Meanwhile, chop the bars into small pieces, depending on how chunky and crunchy you want it to be. Once the ice cream starts to stiffen, add the chopped candy pieces in and let spin another couple minute.

Transfer this mixture in the bowl to the freezer. The longer you wait, the more time it has to set up. It’s fantastic the next day, but creamy enough to enjoy 6 hours after freezing.

Enjoy and thank Ben & Jerry for the foundation of this recipe!

*** This has ¼ cup less sugar, 3 ½ more candy bars, and 1 more teaspoon vanilla than the original recipe
