Red, White, and Blue Chocolate Covered Pretzels

These chocolate dipped pretzels are super fun and easy to assemble. Cooking with kids? This is a great activity for kids of all ages!

Serves 10-20
Time: 20 minutes
Easy

Ingredients
1 package each of red, white, and blue candy melts*
1 package Pretzel rods
White Nonpareils

Directions
Prepare a baking sheet and cooling rack by placing parchment paper under the cooling rack

Microwave the white melts according to package directions.= being sure to not overcook!

Dip two-thirds of the pretzel rod in the white chocolate. Lay them out on the cooling rack and allow them to dry completely

Melt the blue candy melts. Dip the top third of the white section in the blue. Immediately sprinkle the “stars” aka white nonpareils on the blue portion. Allow them to dry completely.

Finally, melt the red candy melts. Pour melted red candy into a plastic baggie. Cut the corner of the baggie and drizzle “the stripes” over the white section.

Eat once dry or save in an airtight container or baggie to enjoy later!

*Your best bet is to find already colored baking melts as opposed to white chocolate and food coloring. We originally test it using the white chocolate/color dye method and it doesn't work, particularly with red food coloring! If you can't find the candy melts at your local grocery store, check a Michaels Store.
